Writesonic Review 2026: Pricing, Plans and Who It Fits
Our Writesonic review for 2026, in short: Writesonic is no longer a cheap AI copywriter. It now sells itself as an SEO and "AI search visibility" platform: it tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand, and bundles an AI article writer and site audits. Plans start at $79/month billed annually (Starter: 15 AI articles and 50 tracked prompts a month). It suits marketing teams and agencies that care about AI-search visibility; solo writers who only want drafts should look elsewhere.

What Writesonic is now
If you remember Writesonic as a low-cost writing app, its current pricing page describes a different product. Every plan is organized around three things:
- AI Search Visibility: tracking which prompts in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand or your competitors, with daily answer tracking, ads monitoring and (from Growth) sentiment analysis.
- Content & SEO: an AI article writer with a monthly article quota, content optimization, brand-voice "writing styles" and site audits.
- Agentic workflows: AI agents that act on what the tracking finds. They're trial-limited on every self-serve plan and fully available only on Enterprise.
The plan comparison lists Google Search Console, WordPress, GA4 and Looker Studio integrations. Writesonic positions itself against Ahrefs and Semrush as "SEO + GEO in one platform"; that's its own framing, not our finding. We covered this shift across the category in our best AI writing tools comparison.

Source: writesonic.com/pricing, rechecked October 11, 2026. The page shows prices "per month, billed annually" and says annual billing saves 20%, with savings of $240, $600 and $1,200 a year listed for Starter, Basic and Growth. Starter is billed annually at $79/month, Basic at $199/month and Growth at $399/month. The page has a Monthly toggle, but its default view doesn't show monthly-billing prices, so check the toggle before paying. "Fair usage policy applies," per the page.
Other costs on the pricing page: extra users at $50/user/month (up to 5 users total on Basic and Growth); 20 extra articles for $100/month on Growth. Writesonic's FAQ says you can start free with no credit card, that downgrades and cancellations take effect next billing cycle, and that there's a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund.
Pros and cons
Pros
- One of the few tools that bundles AI-answer tracking, article writing and site audits in one plan.
- Clear published limits per plan (articles, prompts, audits, seats).
- Free start with no credit card, plus a 7-day refund, per its FAQ.
- Search Console, WordPress and GA4 integrations listed.
Cons
- Expensive for writing alone: $79/month billed annually for 15 articles on Starter.
- Self-serve plans track only 3 AI platforms; all 8 require Enterprise.
- Agentic workflows and the full Action Center are trial-limited below Enterprise.
- Results claims on the pricing page (such as six-figure deals from AI leads) are customer testimonials, not independent data. We haven't tested the product.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Good fit: in-house marketing teams and agencies who need to know whether AI assistants recommend their brand, and want content and audits in the same tool.
Skip it if: you're a solo blogger, student or freelancer who just wants help drafting text; you don't track AI-search visibility; or you need tracking across Perplexity, Claude, Copilot or Grok without an Enterprise contract. A general chatbot plan is far cheaper for drafting; see our ChatGPT Plus vs Claude Pro vs Gemini Advanced comparison.

Verdict
Writesonic in 2026 is a marketing-team platform for SEO plus AI-search visibility, with an article writer included, not a writing app with extras. If AI-answer visibility is a real line in your marketing plan, Starter at $79/month billed annually is a reasonable way to test it, helped by the free start and 7-day refund. If you mainly want words on a page, it's the wrong tool at the wrong price.
