Pictory Review 2026: Pricing, Plans and Who It Fits
Our Pictory review for 2026, in short: Pictory turns scripts, articles, URLs and slides into videos with stock footage, captions and AI voiceover, and can edit recorded video by text. It offers a 14-day free trial, then Starter at $25 a month billed annually ($29 monthly), Professional at $35 ($59) and Team at $119 ($199), each with an allowance of exported video minutes and AI credits. It suits repurposing written content into short videos; paid exports cap at 1080p, there are no refunds, and the pricing page contradicts itself on some credit figures.

What Pictory does
Pictory is an AI video creation tool aimed at people who start from text or existing footage rather than from a camera. Its pricing page describes the product as turning scripts into videos, editing recorded video by editing text, and summarizing long videos. Based on the pricing page and its footer navigation, the product breaks down like this:
- Script, blog and URL to video: you provide a script, article or link and Pictory assembles a video with stock footage, captions and a voiceover. Maximum generated video length is 30 minutes on paid plans.
- Edit by text: edit recorded video through its transcript, generate video highlights and auto-summarize long videos. Maximum length for editing recorded video is 60 minutes on Starter and 180 minutes on Professional and Team.
- Stock media: Storyblocks and Getty Images libraries (5 million videos on Starter, 18 million on Professional and Team), plus premium music tracks. The FAQ says Pictory has licensed the clips, music and voiceovers for use in your videos.
- Voices: hyper-realistic AI voices from ElevenLabs in 29 languages, with a monthly or yearly minute allowance per plan, standard voices in 7 languages, and voice cloning (2 voices) on Professional and above.
- Avatars: stock video avatars, with custom avatars from Professional.
- Other: PowerPoint to video, automatic captions and subtitle export, Brand Kits (1, 5 or 10 by plan), exports in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1, and an API listed under Enterprise.
Pictory says it is trusted by more than 20,000 companies and its pricing page carries customer testimonials. Those are the vendor's own materials; we have not verified them and do not reproduce them. The plain takeaway is that the product is built around a monthly or yearly allowance of exported video minutes, plus a separate pool of AI credits for generated images, video and avatars.

Reading the numbers: the page defaults to annual pricing and says it saves "up to 40%". Each annual card shows the lower price next to the monthly list price ($25 beside $29, $35 beside $59, $119 beside $199). The 40% figure matches the Professional gap only; Starter saves about 14% and Team about 40%. Professional's annual card also carries an "Exclusive Pictory 2.0 offer" label, so $35 may be a promotional price. Annual plans are also said to include a consultation with a video-creation expert, which the page values at $210.
Where the plans differ in ways that matter: exports use up minutes, and the allowance is per month on monthly billing and a full-year pool on annual billing. Pictory's usage line says Starter's annual AI credits are "usable for up to 2,000 images, 12.5 minutes of video, or 40 minutes of avatar video", and Professional's for up to 20,000 images, 125 minutes of video or 400 minutes of avatar video, so generated video eats credits quickly. On monthly billing Professional includes 500 credits a month, which is half the 1,000 a month its annual pool works out to.
What we could not confirm: whether the free trial needs a payment card; the Enterprise price; how the API is priced (the page links to separate API pricing that we did not review); and which numbers are right where the page disagrees with itself. The comparison table and plan cards give different AI-credit and ElevenLabs-minute figures for some plans, for example the comparison table prints the Professional credit figure as "500 1000". We used the plan cards.
What users say: ratings on review sites
| Review site | Rating | Reviews | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| G2 | 4.6 / 5 | 81 | G2 |
| Capterra | 4.8 / 5 | 163 | Capterra |
| Trustpilot | 4.2 / 5 | 662 | Trustpilot |

The three sites are positive and fairly close: 4.6 on G2, 4.8 on Capterra and 4.2 on Trustpilot. G2 has the fewest reviews (81), while Trustpilot has the most (662). We have not analyzed the review text. Trustpilot's own auto-generated summary of 240 recent reviews describes a mostly positive experience, with ease of use and customer service singled out; that is Trustpilot's summary, not our finding. Sort by most recent on each site before you decide.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Turns scripts, articles and URLs into videos with stock footage, captions and voiceover in one tool.
- A 14-day free trial, and Starter's key features include no watermark.
- Large stock library through Storyblocks and Getty, with licensing covered per its FAQ.
- AI voices from ElevenLabs in 29 languages are included in the plan allowances, with voice cloning on Professional.
- Clear price ladder with annual and monthly prices published for the three self-serve plans.
- Capterra shows 4.8 out of 5 from 163 reviews, G2 4.6 from 81 and Trustpilot 4.2 from 662.
Cons
- No refunds on paid subscriptions, and projects are deleted on cancellation, so you must download videos first.
- The trial is capped at 3 projects, 15 minutes and 720p, which limits how much of your workflow you can test.
- Minutes do not roll over on monthly plans, and exports consume them.
- AI-generated video and avatars draw on a small credit pool; Starter's annual credits cover about 12.5 minutes of generated video.
- The pricing page contradicts itself on some credit and voice-minute figures.
- A 1080p export cap on paid plans, and the Professional annual price carries a promotional label.
Who should buy it, and who shouldn't
Good fit: marketers, course creators, bloggers and small teams that want to turn existing written content, slide decks or webinar recordings into short videos without learning an editor. Starter suits occasional social clips; Professional suits regular publishers who want voice cloning, custom avatars and more Brand Kits; Team suits three or more people sharing assets.
Skip it if: you need frame-level control over a long, camera-shot production, because the product is built around automated assembly from text; you need 4K export, since the plan table lists 1080p as the maximum; you want refunds as a safety net; or you plan to generate a lot of AI video or avatar footage, where the credit pool is the limit. If your starting point is a recording you want to edit as a transcript, our Descript review covers a tool designed for that.
Questions to answer before paying: how many minutes of finished video you export each month (compare with 200, 600 or 1,800); whether the trial's 3 projects are enough to test your real content; whether you need voice cloning or custom avatars, which start at Professional; and whether the Professional annual price will still be $35 when you renew.

Verdict
Pictory in 2026 is an automated text-to-video tool with a 14-day trial and three self-serve plans at $25, $35 and $119 a month on annual billing ($29, $59 and $199 monthly). Ratings are solid across the board (4.8 on Capterra, 4.6 on G2, 4.2 on Trustpilot from 662 reviews), and the pricing structure is easy to compare once you convert yearly allowances to monthly ones. The risks are in the details: no refunds, projects deleted on cancellation, a trial capped at 3 projects, a small credit pool for generated video, and a pricing page that disagrees with itself in places. If you repurpose written content into video and can live with the 1080p cap, run your own article through the trial and read the export minutes carefully before choosing Starter or Professional. If you need heavy AI video or 4K, look elsewhere.
