Smart AI Tools Review is a small editorial operation. Every review is written and reviewed by a named editor — not a content mill.
Role: Hands-on testing & review writing
The Reviews Desk is responsible for our individual tool reviews and category round-ups. The desk maintains active subscriptions to the tools we cover and runs standardized task batteries for each.
Focus areas: AI writing tools, image generators, coding assistants, chatbots, AI agents.
Role: Editorial oversight & review
Reviews every published article for accuracy, tests reproducibility, and affiliate-disclosure compliance. Has final authority on rankings and category winners.

For every tool we cover: (1) we subscribe or use the official free tier; (2) we run a standardized battery of tasks appropriate to the tool's category (e.g. 10 long-form writing prompts for writing tools, 15 image generation prompts across styles for image generators); (3) we document specific inputs, outputs, and failure modes; (4) we compare to competitors on the same prompts; (5) editor review and publish.
We use AI tools (including ones we review) in our own workflow — that would be strange not to, given what we cover. Every article is reviewed by a human editor responsible for accuracy, testing reproducibility, and final sign-off. We disclose when screenshots, outputs, or examples in a review were generated by the tool under review.
